Woke up to this again. my poor lily plant, all the snow all over it. The snow is melting quickly, we expect the weather to get to 50 today, back to 30's tonight. Going to get my DGS for the afternoon, while he naps, I'll work on the star quilt. I decided to put sashings on it, been cutting them out this AM.Started dinner early, have potatoes in the slow cooker, I wanted to see if they would cook. I plan to have Shepherd's pie, the hamburger it cooked, just need to do the vegetables. I had picked up hamburger 7% on sale, less than $2.12 a pound. Plan to make shepherds pie, tacos, spaghetti, and a stew type I got recipe yesterday, and stuff peppers from the hamburger.
Update: yes you can cook potatoes in the crock pot, I'm liking that little thing more and more, best $10 spent :-)

Lori, I like the price you paid for the ground beef!
We had a local cooking program when I was a kid. The lady used to brown up about 5# of beef at a time, spread it on a cookie sheet, and freeze it. After it was frozen, she divided it in batches for recipes. She called it: hamburger gravel.
I haven't done it recently, but it was a good time saver.
Whats with the snow??? Seems like you have gotten a lot this year. more then usual...
